Jean-Marc Bustamante is one of the most significant contemporary artists in France and is represented internationally in renowned museums.

Although he is often perceived as a painter, he proves to be a consistent boundary-crosser, continually questioning and shifting the limits of conventional categories. He overcomes these boundaries both in technique, incorporating the scriptural and the digital, and in the shift from canvas to Plexiglas, steel, and plaster, to open picture surfaces as well as hermetic wall surfaces. A comprehensive collection of his nearly fifty years of artistic work is being created in collaboration with him, focusing on central artistic developments and his conceptual cornerstones. The exhibition is divided into an extensive presentation of his photographic work as well as a spatial installation that is multimedia in nature.
