Heute zwischen gestern und morgen: Ein Abend für Kurt Tucholsky

Johannesstr. 20, 56112 Lahnstein

A reading with music at the Lahnstein Theater

He was a critic of the Weimar Republic, a sharp observer, and a representative of pacifist humanism in the fight against all forms of bourgeois narrow-mindedness, civil lethargy, militarism, and nationalism: Kurt Tucholsky. Under the title "Today Between Yesterday and Tomorrow," a special production at the Lahnstein Theater on Friday, April 24, is dedicated to the life and work of the great satirist and poet: with a lot of music and a healthy dose of irony.

The production, directed by Waltraud Heldermann, is a lively biography that combines Tucholsky's texts with musical interludes. From cheeky poetry to melancholic chansons, as well as elements of the music revue, it reflects the broad spectrum of his work.

On stage are the actors Frank Eller and Thomas Gramen, who bring Tucholsky's witty and ironic spirit to life. They are accompanied on the piano by Uli Cleves.

The evening promises an entertaining journey through a tumultuous time, with themes of the fight against militarism and civil lethargy often appearing alarmingly relevant.

The event starts at 8:00 PM, and the entry fee is 18.00 Euros.

Tickets are available online from Ticket Regional, at the Tourist Information Lahnstein at Salhofplatz, or at all advance sale points of Ticket Regional.
