Between Fear and Anticipation – End of the War and 'Zero Hour' in Lahnstein

Before the American troops invaded Lahnstein on March 27, events unfolded rapidly on both sides of the Lahn River. Whether the fear of the enemy or the anticipation of the liberators prevailed will be examined more closely in the lecture.

Bernd Geil, a native of Koblenz, has been the City Archivist of Lahnstein since 2002. The graduate archivist has already organized five exhibitions on the end of the war in Lahnstein and has authored several books, including the new publication “Vibrant Lahnstein” and a brochure about the stumbling stones in Lahnstein.

Subsequently, a retrospective on the lecture series and a public discussion with the panel of speakers.

The lecture series is moderated by Ulrich Linnemann, Bad Schwalbach, and Klaus D. Schoch, Wesel.
It is under the patronage of the Mayor of Lahnstein, Mr. Lennart Siefert.

The lecture series takes place at the Sporkenburger Hof in Lahnstein. 
Doors open for a Get Together at 6:45 PM; the lecture starts at 7:30 PM.

Tickets are available for € 7.00 (no discounts) in advance online through Ticket Regional, at the Tourist Information Lahnstein at Salhofplatz, as well as at all other VVK points for Ticket Regional or at the box office. Please note the limited number of seats.
