In 1969, the winery was expanded to independence by Theo and Katharina Kreis. Since 2010, the winery has been run as a family business by the second and third generations. The cultivation is managed by Josef and Ulrike Kreis and their son Jochen Kreis.
On 12 hectares of vineyard area, 80% Riesling and 20% Pinot varieties (predominantly Spätburgunder as well as Weißburgunder and Frühburgunder) are grown. The vineyards are located in the Hallgarten and Oestrich vineyard sites.
In 1992, there was an opportunity to purchase the building of the former winegrowers' cooperative Vereinigte Weingutsbesitzer Hallgarten ("the English") in Hallgarten. The representative building is used for wine production and events. Since 1995, we have participated in the annual Rheingau culinary weeks. The facilities and the old vaulted cellar are perfect for wine tastings or cultural events.
