Nature-friendly soil cultivation is one of the most important aspects of viticulture for us! We have been working herbicide-free for 10 years.
With our own horses, we produce our own manure, which in turn is the main fertilizer for our vineyards! Astano, Navico, and Dusty exclusively receive hay produced from our own meadows. This creates our own little natural cycle.
Over one-third of our sites are Grand Cru sites. The perfect site selection, permanent greening in the rows of vines, minimized plant protection, and organic fertilization are the 4 main aspects for us to achieve good and honest quality.
Today, the winery is a true family business. Son Maximilian has definitely inherited his craftsmanship from his father and grandfather. “A man’s job!”
He takes care of all the mechanical work in the vineyard.
Daughter Katharina also completed a winemaker apprenticeship and studied viticulture and oenology at the Geisenheim University.
The cellar is her balance, where she can bring her craft and her passion closer to the customer.
Our strength lies in Rheingau Riesling. Here, we extract 100% of the fruit, fullness, and the typical extracts from the grapes that a Rheingau Riesling must have by optimizing the ripening period of the grapes and the long storage on the fine lees.
