"Winemaking is a craft; producing top quality is an art."
The highest quality wines can only be produced through intensive and thoughtful work in the vineyard and cellar. The care of biodiversity in the vineyard, vibrant healthy soil, hand harvesting, and gentle grape processing in the cellar result in complex, award-winning wines - currently recognized with four red grape varieties in Gault&Millau and HENRIS.
In line with this philosophy of the VDP estate, located in the historic Hattenheim, it has been certified with the sustainability seal by FairChoice.
The fruit-forward, elegant Rieslings of the VDP estate and complex, barrique-aged Pinot Noirs reflect terroir and craftsmanship, just like the velvety vintage sparkling wines produced using traditional bottle fermentation.
The estate spans an area of about 20 hectares, where 75% Riesling, 20% Pinot Noir, and other grape varieties such as Auxerrois, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Scheurebe, Ehrenfelser, Chardonnay, and Red Riesling are cultivated.
Wine and art - we connect these in our wine shop and art cellar. We offer our guests the experience of enjoying our multiple award-winning wines together with international art. During wine tastings in the historic wine and art cellar, we select matching wines to complement the artworks, making the enjoyment of art and wine a truly special experience.
We also offer rare wine tastings with selected vintage wines from our treasury.
Our art cellar and the event room in the "historic giant barrel cellar" with its six-meter-high vault offers a perfect setting for meetings and events of all kinds. We are happy to plan and organize corporate events or private celebrations and look forward to advising you - from catering to the appropriate selection of wines.
