Many opposites make a whole
Danish-German, Riesling-Pinot Noir, brother-sister, wine-sparkling wine, familiar-new, opposites attract at the Egert winery, where, in the 6th generation, eight hands and four paws work daily for the success and continuation of the winery. Through this diversity, ideas arise from experience combined with innovation. While Sophie focuses on producing her own sparkling wine, Max prioritizes close-to-nature cultivation of the vineyards. The winery is located in the heart of the Rheingau – in Hattenheim on the Rhine. On 9 hectares of vineyard, our Riesling and Pinot vines grow, which we tend with much handwork. With 90%, Riesling plays the leading role with us, from dry to sweet, still and sparkling, the queen of grapes shows herself in a versatile way. 10% of the vineyard area is planted with Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, which are pressed into dry white and rosé wines.
