Goetheanlage
Rheinstraße 56, 56564 Neuwied
Leisure area with playground, fountain, and play field
The Goethe Park was originally the Upper Bleach Meadow of the city.
From 1869, the Rhine bathing facility and boathouses as well as a playground were built. From 1904, the area was called Wilhelm Square. Since 1949, the site has been known as Goetheanlage.
In 2009/2010, the park was redesigned with significant citizen participation. The area invites young and old to linger, featuring a large playground, a fountain, and since 2017, there is also a pétanque court thanks to engaged citizens.
Open-air concerts like the Creole Summer also take place here.
