Historical curiosities that continue to shape the wine world today, breathtaking views into the Rhine Valley, literary art masterfully presented, and fine wines from the best vineyards... let yourselves be tempted.
Hike together with winemaker Jesse Nies and author Andreas Arz through the Free State of Flaschenhals.
On the Rhine Trail, we will make our way through the steep slope vineyards and enjoy the best wines from the Nies winery.
Along the way, Andreas Arz will read from his works and take us on an exciting journey, the end of which marks the discovery of late harvest wine 250 years ago.
Program
- Welcome with a sparkling wine reception at the winery
- Hike on the Rhine Trail through the vineyards Lorchhäuser Seligmacher and Lorcher Schloßberg with a view of the romantic Rhine Valley
- Along the way, information about the Free State of Flaschenhals and the steep slope viticulture in the Rhine Slate Mountains
- At the Clemenskapelle, we enjoy the magnificent view and toast to a wonderful day
- Next, we continue to Burg Nollig, where Andreas Arz will immerse us in his world of words and uncover the mystery of late harvest wine. Here we will strengthen ourselves with "Weck, Worscht und Wein"
- The final stop takes us to a cozy spot by the romantic little river Wisper, where we will dive into the time of the Free State of Flaschenhals and taste a fine Free State wine
- Finally, at the winery, a hearty meal awaits you with freshly prepared regional delicacies and a suitable wine
