Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy - several short films

The legendary comedy duo Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy – better known as “Dick and Doof” or “Stan & Olli” – remains one of the greatest icons in film history. With their timeless humor, they continue to captivate generations of audiences even in the new millennium. Among others, Liberty (Leo McCarey, USA 1929) will be shown, one of the most spectacular Laurel and Hardy films: As construction workers, the two find themselves on the scaffold of a skyscraper and create breathtaking moments of thrill and comedy with their daring antics.

The silent film will be accompanied by Stephan Graf von Bothmer, the renowned pianist and composer, who fills major concert halls as well as intimate theaters around the world with his extraordinary silent film concerts. For each film, he composes a unique, captivating film score that allows the audience to immerse deeply into the storyline, highlighting the emotional depth and unique humor of the films impressively. His celebrated performances have taken him to the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival as well as the Berlin festival at Tempelhof Airport, where he performed alongside artists such as Björk, Blur, and the Pet Shop Boys.
