Through his "favorite songs," he tells very personal stories about encounters with people and underscores significant milestones in his life musically. An ironical-melancholic look back, but always very much in the here and now – typical Ilja yet different this time. The favorite melodies on the Richter scale seamlessly transition from the two great K's – Georg Kreisler and Manfred Krug – to Udo Jürgens, Franz Lehar, Slade, Michel Legrand, Albert Hammond, Friedrich Hollaender, and many others. Among them are also unknown gems and well-known musical and Disney melodies. He connects pop with classical music and sings hits and chansons in unexpected interpretations.
