Experience the scenic and historical specialty of the Ostein Landscape Park on a late summer wine hike, which explicitly highlights the beauty and history of this remarkable late Baroque creation - a creation that was ahead of its time.

Look forward to an exciting exploration tour with breathtaking views of the Rhine Valley and the Nahe Estuary.

The meeting point is the Niederwald Hunting Lodge, from where we will start with explanations about the creation and history of the landscape park. Our hike will take us through the mysterious Magic Cave, to the Knights' Hall, and to the artificial ruin Rossel. On our way, we will pass the Hermitage before reaching the imposing Niederwald Monument and finally the picturesque little temple to enjoy the spectacular view. We will return to the hunting lodge along the straight sand avenue.

While you're on the way, tasting four excellent wines at grand viewpoints, you will receive informed insights into the wines and their respective wineries while looking out upon the late summer vineyard landscape, where the grape harvest has already begun. 

The tour is accompanied by two Rheingau culture and wine ambassadors, one of whom, as a nature park guide for the Rhine-Taunus (Dr. Marco Hoyer), explains both the historical as well as the current aspects of the cultural landscape in Niederwald, while the other, as an oenologist (Hans Kessler), shares his extensive knowledge about winemaking and wine preparation.
