María Dueñas, Violine Alexander Malofeev, Klavier im Schloß Johannisberg
Schlossallee, 65366 Geisenheim-Johannisberg
Summit meeting of two shooting stars
Having an exceptional artist on stage is excellent – but having two is even better! The violinist María Dueñas, our focus artist this year, and the pianist Alexander Malofeev are among the shining musical figures of their generation and delight the audience of the Salzburg Festival as a fixed duo with their congenial collaboration.
Despite their still young careers, they have already won numerous awards and established themselves on major international stages. Since winning the Menuhin Competition in 2021, María Dueñas has been regarded as an extraordinary talent, celebrated for the virtuosity of her playing and her bel canto-like tone. With Alexander Malofeev at the piano, she has found a musical duo partner on equal footing, capable of not only shining with virtuosity but also sensitively holding back without losing depth. This creates excellent conditions for their joint chamber music evening at Schloss Johannisberg, where they will take their audience into the vividly colorful world of the Romantic-Impressionist era.
