For years, the choir Divertimento has regularly come to rehearsal weekends at the state music academy. We are very pleased to invite the public to the free workshop concert on a Saturday evening in the auditorium of the Heinrich House. The well-known pop-jazz choir from the Westerwald presents a varied program, particularly from the fields of pop and jazz.

The "Chor Divertimento" is a formation of singers from the northern Westerwald founded in 2002, consisting of about 30 members. Nomen est omen - the word 'Divertimento' originally comes from Italian and literally translates to pleasure, entertainment, and fun. In a musical sense, a Divertimento is a cheerful instrumental composition in small ensemble, similar to a suite or sonata. The naming thus succinctly expresses the concept and goals of the choir - to have fun and bring joy with modern, varied choral singing accompanied by suitable choreography in a deliberately manageable-sized ensemble. Musically, the choir is oriented towards modern styles such as vocal pop, jazz, rock, and gospel. In short: choral music that is enjoyable for both singers and the audience alike. Regular choir rehearsals take place once a week. Once a year, the entire ensemble meets for a rehearsal weekend at the state music academy in Rhineland-Palatinate in Neuwied-Engers. The choir regularly participates in choral festivals and competitions, achieving a sensational 3rd prize in the Jazz-Pop category at the German Choral Festival in Leipzig in 2022.
