Here's another proof that the Rheingau produces great wines. More specifically, we - Jennifer & Bernhard Bickelmaier - are doing this.
We both grew up in this little corner of the world and have found our calling. Without having planned it extensively, we make wine and have developed into a great work team, both professionally and privately.
A fresh wind is blowing into the family winery, which is evident not only in the renaming of Weingut Bernhard Bickelmaier to Weingut sechzehn ein&vierzig GbR, but also in our range. Besides the majority share of 75 percent Riesling, we aim to give our wine selection additional profile with a few grapes that are rather atypical for the Rheingau. Kerner, Roter Riesling, and Accent for a highly aromatic red wine are the selected players.

Our tasks are clearly divided!
Bernhard always goes headfirst through the wall and brings energy to the winery. He cares for and maintains the outdoor facilities, and in the cellar, he is in charge! At just thirty years old, he knows perfectly well where changes in the cultivation and production of his wines make sense. He is a state-certified manager for viticulture and oenology and is still in the service of Geisenheim University.
Jennifer is responsible at sechzehn ein&vierzig for the graphic implementation of everything that bears our logo and always keeps the big picture in mind. She also oversees the entire logistics sector at sechzehn ein&vierzig and ensures a smooth processing of order processes.
We share our goals with full hearts!
Together we produce fresh, site-typical wines that do not overwhelm. There is something for everyone here.

Why formulate something complicated when the wheel has long been invented?
The Bickelmaier family belongs to the oldest winemaking families in the Rheingau Oestrich - Winkel. A branch of the family, first mentioned in the church register in 1641, is Weingut Bernhard Bickelmaier, which is located in the courtyard on Marktstraße in the old town center.
The longer we carry this name, the more comfortable we feel with it. We're all about the joy of wine, making it as accessible as possible, and breaking down barriers of contact. Wine is a wonderful, artisanal product that everyone should enjoy, not just a small, elite circle.
