Many contrasts make a whole
Danish-German, Riesling-Pinot Noir, brother-sister, wine-sparkling wine, familiar-new, contrasts attract each other at the Egert winery, where, in the 6th generation, eight hands and four paws work daily for the success and continuity of the winery. Through this diversity, ideas emerge from experience paired with innovation. While Sophie focuses on producing her own sparkling wine, Max prioritizes a nature-friendly cultivation of the vineyards. The winery is located in the heart of the Rheingau – in Hattenheim on the Rhine. On 9 hectares of vineyard area, our Riesling and Burgundy vines grow, which we tend with a lot of handwork. With 90%, Riesling plays the leading role for us, ranging from dry to off-dry, still and sparkling, the queen of grapes shows itself in a variety of ways. 10% of the vineyard area is planted with Pinot Noir and White Burgundy vines, which are pressed into dry white and rosé wines.
