Weingut Geromont
Hauptstr. 80, 65375 Oestrich-Winkel
WEINGUT GEROMONT, a small jewel in the heart of the Rheingau region The traditional winery in the center of Winkel was built in 1665. It has been family-owned for more than 150 years. The Geromont family can be traced back to 1666. They originally came from Belgium, near Liège. A Geromont ancestor, Johann Georg Geromont, was Lord Mayor of Bingen for over 30 years. In 1850, Carl Josef Ambrosius Geromont, grandson of the mayor, inherited the estate from his godmother.
Since then, it has been in the Geromont lineage and is still run as a winery today. The current owner, Ursula von Breitenbach, a graduate oenologist from the Geisenheim University of Applied Sciences, runs the business with great enthusiasm. After graduating, she was the estate manager of a consortium of two large Geisenheim VDP wine estates and was the only Rheingau estate manager at the time. In 1988, she took over the GEROMONT winery from her parents Ludwig and Renate Werkmeister, née Geromont.
