In June 1890, the foundation stone for the largest industrial plant in Niederlahnstein was laid, the Stettiner Chamotte-Fabrik Actien-Gesellschaft, formerly Didier. The plant sought another industrial location in West Germany in addition to its facilities in Stettin and Gleiwitz, so the factory was built between the railway and the Rhine on an area of 200 meters in length and 33 meters in width. In addition to the factory building, a three-story management building, a two-and-a-half-story residential building for the officials, and two workers' houses were planned. After extensive renovation and expansion work on the chamotte castle from the 19th century, located directly on the Rhine, a culinary experience of a cozy kind opened here in 1995.
