STADTGALERIE Mennonitenkirche
Schlossstr. 2, 56564 Neuwied
The former church is now a museum with regular exhibitions
The Mennonite religious group settled in Neuwied shortly after the city was founded. The former church was built in baroque style between 1766 and 1768, and the bell tower was added in 1860. Religious freedom is a princely Wied privilege. In the 1960s, the community sold the church to the princely family and dissolved the community in the city center. In the meantime, a new community was established in Torney.
