Danza Vosolvia - Tanzkreis historische Tänze

The amateur dance circle sees its task as presenting court and peasant dances from the 15th to 19th centuries to a wide audience. It has a rich repertoire of dances and a fund of self-made costumes from the 15th to 19th centuries, with which it performs in supporting programmes such as the Oberwesel Spectaculum, the district culture days, or the Prümer Urbar anniversary, the ‘Begijnhoffesten 1994’ in Ghent and also in evening events in Diez, St. Goar, Oberwesel, Bacharach, Bingen, Rheinböllen, Simmern, Kirchberg, Kaub and Bad Ems - until 1994 with the group ‘Tandaradei’, then with the musicians William Buchanan and Uwe Schlottermüller. Ilka Jacobs and Anselm Deninger as well as the group ‘Saltarello’ with Stephan Mester. The dance group for historical dances has been called ‘Danza Vosolvia’ since 1994.
With the three fields of activity:
- Performing historical dances in historical costumes
- organising dance courses
- organising historical balls
DANZA VOSOLVIA aims to promote historical dance and bring a little bit of history to life. The members of the dance ensemble currently come from five nations: Belgium, Germany, Poland, Russia and the USA.
