Family Day / Mosquito Festival

On Sunday, May 31, 2026, it will be colorful, creative, and truly lively at the Sayner Hütte: From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the team, along with many partners, invites you to the popular Mosquito Festival for the whole family.

Look forward to a colorful interactive program with many activities for children and adults. Together with Master Volker Allexi, you can get creative in the forming and casting workshops. The workshops take place at 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. in small groups – and of course, the self-crafted cast piece can be taken home.

Additionally, many other stations await you: painting, crafting, puzzling, face painting, climbing, or goal wall shooting – there’s something for everyone here. Naturally, the famous "Sayner Mücke," crafted from just a drop of iron, will also be present. This year, it will zoom through the casting hall – be surprised!

A special highlight is the family concert "Knight Rusty and Family Scrap Heap" at 2 p.m. with Jörg Hilbert and his musician friends Fabian Strotmann and Dominik Schneider.
Refreshments will also be provided: The team from the Waldgaststätte Meisenhof will serve you food and drinks – and the parents can even take a little break to put their feet up.

Admission costs 3 euros per person from 5 years and up. The Mosquito Festival is supported this year by the Cultural Summer of Rhineland-Palatinate.
