Wildgehege Remstecken, 56075 Koblenz
If you drive from Koblenz along the Hunsrückhöhenstraße (B 327) in the direction of Waldesch, after only a few minutes on the right side, at the end of a long ascent, you will find the turn-off to the Waldökostation on the Remstecken.
The communal nature centre is in good hands on the Koblenzer Remstecken. Located in the middle of the city forest on the left bank of the Rhine, Remstecken (320 m above sea level) is one of the most popular recreational areas in the region. It is the starting point for a network of circular hiking trails with nature trails and sights. For example, you can visit the beautifully landscaped farmer's garden at the forest ecology station or observe and feed red deer, fallow deer, Sika and wild boar at the game enclosures. A visit to the pond is also exciting, with dragonflies, frogs and toads as well as mallard ducks and mandarin ducks.
Among the other attractions, especially for the young visitors, is certainly an adventurous forest playground. The restaurant opposite the nature centre invites you to eat, drink and linger. In addition to the forest, the Remstecken has a multitude of other habitats. Orchard meadows, hedge and field shrubs as well as a strongly branched water system (springs, brooks, ponds) can be well explored and examined.
