The mobile puppet theater plays with the "Puppentheater im Johanniskloster" a permanent house in the Johanniskloster on the banks of the Rhine in Lahnstein. The puppet stage built into the Johanniskloster is one of the few permanent venues for puppet shows in Germany.

About St. John's Monastery: The Romanesque, transeptless pillar basilica with side aisle galleries and six-story west tower was built around the year 1130 and is thus the oldest gallery church on the Middle Rhine. Beneath the present church lie the foundations of a Carolingian predecessor church from before 850; a second larger hall church stood on this site around the year 1000. After devastation and destruction, the church was rebuilt in 1856/57. Today, the church and the monastery are in the care of the Fathers of the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary.
